With poet Joy Harjo

Joy Harjo with Mary Oishi

Joy Harjo stopped in to the Native Voice One open house at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque. I have admired her work since playing cuts from Letter From the End of of the Twentieth Century at KVNF in Paonia, Colorado in the 1990's. "Fear Poem" particularly spoke to me then. It was my distinct honor to introduce her at a performance at Bookworks in Albuquerque. Both of us have a poem in the Harwood Anthology, published by Old School Books, Albuquerque, 2006.
